Businesses Support for Community Christmas

Castle Donington Volunteer Centre and Parish Council wanted to say a big "Thank You" for the generous donations which have allowed us to make a real difference throughout our community in the run-up to Christmas. We have achieved everything on our "to do" list and covered all age ranges thanks to your help.

The Companies are:

Your generosity exceeded our expectations so, given the outlook for the pandemic, we are now beginning to plan events to lift spirits around springtime.

Your donations have allowed us to do:

A total of 700 selection boxes were distributed to
local primary schools and playgroups.

We set up a Reindeer and Elf trail and Santa
appearances (in person and via Zoom) with
the obligatory prizes on hand.

Christmas cakes, puddings and mince pies were
distributed to 3 care and sheltered homes and
the GP Surgery and Pharmacy.

And, finally, we delivered 80+ Christmas
"hamper bags" to the elderly residents that
we knew would be lonely during the
Christmas period due to lack of contact
with family and friends.

During Lockdown, we are also continuing with the shopping and meals on wheels to those in need, and also have a telephone "friends" lines too.

On behalf of the recipients of the above, and all of us, your help has been much appreciated.

Thank you.

Take care, stay safe,
