The government public health guidelines are a considerable challenge not only to Castle Donington Parish Council but to all operators of these sort of facilities. The Parish Council also needs to be aware of its duty of care both to public and its staff.

Many planning applications are received for comments by the Parish Council. It is able to comment as a consultee the same as any member of the public. There have been a number of applications for tree works, the Parish Council in these cases is usually guided by the tree specialists and asks for replacement trees to be planted if a tree is removed.

The Parish Council has agreed to hold meetings virtually for the next few months, this will be reviewed at the September meeting. The meetings will run in the same format as usual, except virtually. There is still no clear guidance on social gatherings in large numbers, so it is unclear which events later this year will be able to take place. Once clear guidance is available notices will be given as which events may still happen!

The Parish Council is working with the government guidelines to "hopefully" be able to open the Community Hub as soon as the legislation will allow it to. Additional sanitizer stations are being purchased, signage reminding people as what is necessary to do (handwashing/social distance), screens to protect the public and staff and volunteers, etc.

Works to the car park are being undertaken to improve access for all users.
