We are looking for residents in the NWL area to stand to be a Governor. This is a really exciting time to join us and if this is something you might be interested in then read on, if it's not for you then maybe you know someone else who might want to be involved – if so please forward on this email.
Nominations are now open via www.ersvotes.com/uhdb2018
On this site you will find an information pack 'So you want to be a Governor?' which will tell you all about the role – unfortunately the information sessions are now passed – but we are happy to answer any questions and also send you the slide pack from the sessions.
Just by way of outline the Council of Governors is responsible for representing the interests of members and the public, key appointments and influencing the Trust plans. The term of office is up to three years, commencing on 1 October 2018. There are a number of rules governing the role of governor and these are covered in the information pack, for example you have to be a member of the Trust to stand to be a Governor and we can help you sign up.
The link above should take you straight to the on-line nominations, alternatively you can apply for a nomination form by contacting Electoral Reform Services Limited - call 020 8889 9203 or e-mail email@example.com
The closing date for receipt of nomination papers to Electoral Reform Ballot Services Limited is 5pm on 17 August 2018.
For your information, if we receive more nominations than vacancies, the next stage of the process will be for public members in those areas to vote for the candidates they would like to represent them on the Council of Governors. Ballot papers will be issued to all eligible members on 7 September 2018 with a closing date of 27 September 2018. If the number of nominations is less than or equal to the number of vacancies, those people will be automatically elected to the Council of Governors.
Should you stand and be successful for any constituency you will be expected to attend an induction session on 4 October 2-5pm at the Royal Derby Hospital.
