Remembrance Day 2019
Local community groups join the Royal British Legion in a parade and service to honour the fallen of WW1 and 11, and other conflicts.
The Parade assembled at the Sailors and Soldiers and marched along Clapgun Street past the nursing home, where elderly residents sat waiting and watching, down to the War Memorial on High Street.
The Parade consisted of many of the local groups from the village including, Scouts and Guides groups, Youth Club, Bowls Club, football and rugby clubs, past servicemen and many more.
Upon reaching the War Memorial, a service was led by the local church groups and the British Legion, and a two-minute silence was observed by ALL, before the laying of the wreaths. The service concluded with a march past the War Memorial and returned along Market Street to the Sailors and Soldiers Club.
Thanks, must go to those that helped with the organisation of the parade including the 4 X 4 Responders and volunteers from Marks and Spencers.
