Relief road update 16/01/2020
Update based on information sent to me today(16/01/2020) from the Engineering Manager in charge of the project.
The problem regarding the airport fence has been resolved with the airport dealing with the problem.
The road is complete with the Red Route Lines already done.
The INDEPENDENT Stage 3 Road Safety Audit was carried out in December.
Following the Stage 3 Road Safety Audit the ground workers have been passed the designers response and are programming in the required remedial works/new items. Considering the size of the project there is very little to do. This work should be completed by the end of next week.
LCC need to approve the legal documents and they expected to be released by LCC for signature this week. As soon as these are released, they will be circulated for signatures. These need to go to all 3 developers, plus bondsmen and then back to the council for completion. The time allowed for this should be 1 to 2 weeks.
The opening date depends on how quickly LCC approve the legal documents however it is still hoped that it will be open at the end of January 2020.
This is the latest information we have.
