Following the sad death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, the Chairman, Councillor Colin Burton, "This is indeed a very sad day for our country. Castle Donington Parish Council joins the nation in mourning the death of HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh".

HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh dedicated his life to the service of our Queen and Country, the Commonwealth and became our longest serving Prince Consort.

"I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to The Queen and all members of the Royal family at this very sad time."

As a mark of respect, during the period of Royal mourning, the Union flag at the Community Hub will fly at half-mast.

Book of Condolence

"I'd encourage local people to leave tributes and messages in the virtual book of condolence which is available via the following links.

For those that do not have the technology and would like to leave a tribute or message, the Parish Council has opened a Book of Condolence at the Community Hub. This will be available from Monday 12 April 2021 to Friday 16 April 2021 – 10am – 2pm each day.

All current Covid regulations will be in place, and masks must be worn at all times.

For those wishing to leave a floral tribute, please leave this on Pinfold Gardens. At the end of each day these will be moved to the Community Hub garden for security.
