Serving the people of Castle Donington

To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Big Lunch on Sunday 5 June 2022, a traditional style Street Party will be held in the heart of the historic town centre on Borough Street, Castle Donington from 12noon – 4 pm.

Following popular demand, and the request for "traditions" to be upheld, the event has now been switched away from Spital Park playing field.

Trestle tables and benches will be for hire at a cost of £30 (for a table and 2 benches, seating for 6). These will be set up in two rows through Borough Street.

Table prices include free access to the children's activities, flags and crowns, glitter tattoos, etc. All you need to do is bring yourself, fittingly dressed for a royal party and a suitable lunch too!

There will be competitions throughout the day for best-dressed tables, and best-dressed costumes – get creative!

If you want an even easier day, afternoon teas can also be pre-ordered, for collection on the day, through Tyler's Tearooms.

Table allocation tickets including for all the children's activities will need to be purchased via the Parish Council in advance. These will then be collected from event control on the day.

In the interests of health and safety, No BBQs, gazebos or umbrellas will be allowed.

On the day, there will be a variety of entertainment for all ages including:

  • Music will be led by the Melbourne Town Band and the Leicestershire and Rutland Pipe band.
  • Displays by the fire service.
  • Bouncy castle.
  • Punch and Judy.
  • Walkabout charactors for the children.
  • Hunt the "Royal Teddy" in the churchyard.
  • Table quizzes.
  • Glitter tattoos and balloon modelling for the children.

TABLE BOOKINGS ARE NOW SOLD OUT!

Tables are for 6 people (Children under 1 do not count) and you can book up to 4 tables under one name. Tables are non-refundable once payment is made

On the day you will be able to arrive from 11:30 am to see your table up, no BBQs, camping stoves, umbrellas, gazebos or extra seating are permitted around your table. On arrival please visit Event Control for check-in with your booking confirmation and you will be shown to your assigned table and given your 'Table Pack' which will include flags, crowns etc. and wristbands and tickets for the children's entertainment.

There will be a competition for the best-decorated table on the day so please go all out decorating your table to look royally fabulous in red, white and blue!
